About Us
"The education system in the UK has been failing black boys for
years.
It has been recognized that a sound education offers benefits to
young people that exceed financial prospects."
Lord William Morris of Handsworth OJ,
Patron - National Black Boys Can Association
Educational qualifications and a full
and positive learning experience can provide a route to a future that is
rich in social, intellectual and experiential opportunities that they
deserve.
The
National Black Boys Can Association, a community led
organisation, has risen up in direct response to this challenge. It is a
proactive, action-oriented organisation that aims to provide black boys
with educational opportunity, valuable life skills, and the self-esteem,
confidence and determination to succeed. All these qualities are
essential if they are to overcome disadvantage and make the most of
their formative and adult years.
I am proud
to be associated with The National Black Boys Can Association. Raising
black boy's awareness of the barriers which many of them face, and
empowering them with strategies for overcoming those barriers, will pay
dividends to the boys not only throughout their years at school but
throughout their adult years too. |
