Blackpupils.com - Making the most of technology to raise the academic and social achievements of pupils throughout the UK. This is the latest education resource on offer from the National Black Boys Can Association in conjunction wtih Education On... Ltd.

Blackpupils.com will help pupils to discover more about their Black roots, challenging them to aim higher, become enterprising and give them a voice to speak to schools, the community and the Government.

The site also contains pages for other stakeholders namely parents, teachers and the community at large, providing materials to help support the education of Black pupils.

Oxford University Black Boys Can Programme           

 

We are expecting this year to run further successful programmes at Oxford, with the aim of raising the awareness of what Oxford University has to offer, challenge black boys into maximising their potential and increasing the number of young black men who attend Russell Group university.

When open eligible applicants are required to be in year 9 or 10.

Year 9 applicants should have the potential of achieving at least 5 subjects at level 6 in Key Stage 3.Year 10 applicants should have the potential of obtaining at least 5 grades A or A* at GCSE.

Birmingham University Black Boys Can Programme  

University of Birmingham crest The National Black Boys Can Association in partnership with Birmingham University last year delivered a 1 day programme for 150 boys from schools around Birmingham. October 2006 saw the commencement of a 1 year programme for thirty year 11 boys in preparation for their GCSE exams this year. The boys attend the university one Saturday per month for a few hours and receive guidance, academic support and assistance to help raise their academic aspirations.

The programme is designed to make a significant impact on the education of the boys across the board and to build their aptitude in this area.
