The National Black Boys Can Association has for many years been dedicated to community support and sharing and dissemination of best practice, in order to develop a transferable model which can be used, adopted and adapted by local community projects to suit their own local needs. As a community led organisation it has championed the issue of underachieving Black boys, and has developed a range of resources and support programmes for community groups, including the "Community Franchise". Under this programme, community groups receive support in setting up their own local Black Boys Can Projects which are tailored to the specific needs of their own communities. Support includes training and materials, manuals, policies and procedures which have been developed specifically for these projects. In addition, projects will receive a range of  materials which may be used to deliver empowerment programmes to Black boys. Once the projects have been established they continue to receive support and training on an annual basis to refresh their knowledge and skills, share best practice with other projects and learn about new developments and training initiatives.
